| "Maverick, ya big stud, take me to bed or lose me forever"
Yeah. I had a good night. | | |
| I'm back!! I looooooved NYC! It's everything I hoped it would be, and more! The Broadway plays were excellent, but my favorite with Jersey Boys (the story of Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons). I didn't get to see everything I had hoped, but maybe next time. I ate a hot dog from a vendor, rode in a taxi cab with a crazy driver, and waited in lines for hours. (That last part was really only because everyone was doing the same tourist attractions that we were!) It wasn't always easy with my mom. She still wanted to parent me a lot, which was a little weird. But guess what made up for it? ROB!! He came to see me and we walked through Central Park together. It was awesome. I am happy that we didn't pass the year mark. What I mean is, I'm glad it's been less than a year since we've seen each other. I also read a really good book, The Kite Runner, while I was there. I recommend it to any of you that actually read... Anyway, summer is finally almost over, thank goodness. I'm ready. Anyone else ready? Most of us will be sophomores! Yay. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with being a freshman. I'm just glad that first year went well and now I feel so much more prepared for the next. I'm tired now. And I'm enjoying a classic movie: Back to the Future! Yay. I hope everyone is doing swell!

| New York City, here I come!!! I am soooo excited for my trip that officially starts with a drive to Duluth in less than 4 hours!!! Which, for those of you who haven't caught on yet, also means a few books from B&N to take on my trip :) :) :)!!! Yay. I'm nervous and scared too though. I've never spent so much time with my mom at once. What if we don't really like each other? Or what if I have to pretend I'm as disgusted with the same things that she is? With her, it's mostly easier to agree with what she says than to spend a week fighting. For those of you who care, I'm going to see 3 Broadway plays while I'm there: Wicked, Chicago, and Jersey Boys! Yay!! And we're going to the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Empire State building, on a Sex and the City tour (hehehe), The MoMA, the Met, the Museum of Natural History, Serendipity 3 (a frozen hot chocolate place featured in the movies Serendipity and One Fine Day), Central Park, China Town, Little Italy and more! Are you jealous? You probably should be. I've wanted this since as long as I can remember.
I'm sad though too. My Rob probably won't make it to see me there. I was really hoping I'd get to experience my first time in the greatest city in the world with the person I care about most. :(
Don't think I'm going to let that ruin my vacation though. It's freakin New York City!!

| It seems like it's been a while since I've updated, but it hasn't even been a week! I did go through with the tattoo and I love it.
The 4th of July wasn't anything special for me, which sucked, but it happens, right? A wise friend of mine once said that "a party is what you make it", and though he was talking about a lame birthday party that 14 year olds throw because they can't drive, I try to apply it in most cases. So any good time that wasn't had, was really my own problem. However, I spent the night at my friend Samantha's house and I'm so glad I did. Sam got married last June and has been living in SC with her Navy husband since. I'm glad we got to chat like old times. It made me miss our days of watching Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and jumping on the tramp and talking about Brandon Bounds.
Anyway, I just finished my final papers for Chemistry and, while they are plump full of bull shit, they'll probably do the trick. I'm crossing my fingers though, because they are the difference between an A and a B.
Today is a busy day. I had a dentist appointment this morning. I always love when strangers poke and prod my mouth with tools that I would rather not exsist at all. Blah. I have a hair appointment today. I think I'm going to get bangs. Yay for newness.
That's about all for me today.

| I'm not sure I have much to say, but my last blog is kind of outdated, so I'll give you guys something new to look at. I went to Grand Forks this weekend for Brett Kubat's birthday party. I think he had a good time. I definitely did because I got to spend time with some cool people. I was a little nervous about staying the night in a hotel by myself, but it really was awesome. I miss living by myself and not being awaken by my siblings or parents or puppies. Then I went to Wilke for lunch with Cullen and got to see some people I'll be on staff with next year. Cullen and I just walked around for awhile aftwerwards and I got my parking permit for the year. Yay. So it was definitely a good time. Last night I watched Fun with Dick and Jane with my bro. It was kinda funny, kinda not. Not bad though. I slept until noon today and then decided it was time for me to get a tattoo. So I went to the tattoo parlour in town with an idea of what I wanted, found something to fit the bill, and made an appointment for 7pm tonight. I'm going to get it on my foot.

"free spirit: not restrained, as by convention or obligation."
Pretty cool, huh? I'll take pictures and post them on here and facebook. I'm not nervous that I won't like it, but I'm a little nervous about the pain. I'm kind of a pansy. I'm really excited though. I haven't told my parents yet. I won't tell them until after I get it or they'll have something retarded to say about it. There's a street dance and a bunch of 4th of July festivities tonight - and through next week -in Hill City. For a small town, we sure get a lot of people for the 4th. I suppose I should be excited for the dance, because for most of my life my parents have restricted me from going. Last year wasn't super fun though. Mostly I watched my teachers and friends' parents get drunk. The worst part is, they only play country music. I like country music a lot. Probably more than any of you who will read this blog, but it's hard to dance to, and it really just isn't cool. What we need is some classic rock, which isn't necessarily easier to dance to, but it's much, much cooler. Anyway, I'm hungry and bored. Peace.
